In this day in age, health insurance is not cheap. Health care when you are uninsured, however, is even more expensive. Many of us get health insurance through our employers. However, there are times when we are unemployed or when we are not offered the best benefits packages. During these times, it is important that we pay attention to individual health insurance plan rates and purchased one that is good for us. Having a lapse in coverage is never good, so buy a plan that you can afford as soon as possible. Some basic insurance with a high deductible is better than no insurance at all. You have to make sure you are covered if you have a big accident or if something suddenly happens and you become ill. Talk to others who you might know who are in the same situation and see what they do for insurance. They may have some good ideas.
