I went to one of the better welding inspector schools. I had been a welder for years and wanted to get a federal job as an inspector. I had been laid off from three welding jobs when the companies went belly up. It was frustrating and having a negative impact on my ability to provide for my family. I did not want unemployment compensation, I wanted employment. I thought it through how a federal job would be much more secure than a regular marketplace job. The government would have to fail before I lost my job. Now I’m working directly for the government as a welding inspector. I’m glad I took the time out to follow a plan. Not all of our plans work but some of the better ones do. This one worked for me. Now I can continue to provide for my family. I have two kids that need to get to college and a mortgage I have to finish paying.
