Ryan Reynolds, co-star of The Change up, has always been a slim, in shape dude but in his more recent years his appearances in films like, Trinity, X Men Origins, and Green Lantern he has been in incredible shape. Hitting some of the best oblique defining workouts is much of his transformation but he attributes most of the change to diet.
When he was told to gain 20lbs in muscle and drop 1/3 of his body fat he started to eat more. Some find it surprising but your body stores less fat for energy if you are eating often.
He also says a big part of his muscle gain came when he started taking supplements like creatine, L-glutamine, CLAs, whey protein powder, and a multivitamin.
Reynolds focused his attention on having most of his carbs right after a workout and not after 8pm. His diet consisted of oatmeal, almond butter, eggs and applesauce for breakfast, protein bars or shakes for morning and afternoon snacks, albacore tuna wraps or chicken salads with avocado for lunch, and broiled chicken or fish with brown rice and vegetables for dinner. The oatmeal and brown rice could even be substituted with quinoa for extra protein and can be flavored how ever you want.
So, as always his diet was healthy, lean protein.
His advice for working out? Don’t save your east favorite part for last, do it first. If you don’t like your workout you won’t do it, so make it fun.
