The Pilates Equipment you find in a studio or gym is usually large and sturdy in order to handle daily use by dozens of clients. You might not be able to fit a full size Pilates Reformer or Trapeze in your house, but there are other Pilates products that will allow you to work out at home. Some reformers are smaller than normal and are designed to fold up after use. However, what you gain in convenience you lose in versatility. The compact reformers do not have all the functionality of the full size reformer. The limited functionality may not be a concern for you unless you are a very advanced practitioner of Pilates. The average person can use the so-called mini-reformer to great benefit. And since the product is priced for the average person, you can probably afford to buy it. Keep in mind that if you really want to develop your body and build your muscles through Pilates, you’ll need more exercise than what you obtain in a weekly class.
